About Team and Role

At SCB DataX, we recognize the critical role that effective risk management plays in our operations. DataX Risk Management division is responsible for data governance, privacy, security, technology risk, operational risk, model risk, business continuity, legal and compliance. We are tasked with development and execution of risk management strategies and ensuring the integrity of our processes and the safeguarding our organization.

This role sits within CRO Office of the Risk Management division.

As a dynamic and innovative AI/ML startup operating in the fintech industry, we are seeking a motivated and skilled Risk Strategy & Change Lead to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute in design and development of our risk management processes in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will be exposed to new ways of working, new risk management techniques, complex business model, and a collegial working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative risk management strategies and initiatives across the organization, considering current and emerging risk themes.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and reports to communicate risk management strategies, progress, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Act as program manager and oversee cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of risk change projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Drive the development and delivery of training programs and workshops to enhance risk management capabilities within the organization.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including affiliates, regulators, and industry experts, to stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in risk management.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management initiatives, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Advise and develop appropriate levels of reporting on key risk indicators and metrics to DataX and SCBX senior management.
  • Assist in developing staffing plans, multi-year investment plans and manage project budgets.
  • Stay updated on emerging risk management practices, regulatory changes, and industry developments to drive continuous improvement in risk management capabilities. Collaborate with CRO Leads to develop thought leadership on emergent risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration or any relevant fields. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM) is an advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in risk management roles, preferably in the technology industry/financial services or related industries.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of developing business case and executing projects in alignment with business objectives.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
